Lucas Giolito Looking To Bounce Back In Second Half

Chicago White Sox right-hander Lucas Giolito had a rough first half of the 2022 season. He will have a chance to start turning things around right out of the gate for the second half of the year as he'll be the team's starting pitcher against the Cleveland Guardians on Friday. Over 16 starts on the season, the 28-year-old has gone 6-5 with a 4.69 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP. He's averaging 10.4 K/9, which is a solid mark, but his 27.1% strikeout rate is the lowest its been since 2018, before he broke out as a high-end starter. Additionally, he's allowed a 10.4% barrel rate, which is well above anything we've ever seen from him (it's been 7.4% over his career).
