6/4:With the 14th pick of the 2018 MLB Amateur draft, the Seattle Mariners selected 21-year-old right-handed pitcher Logan Gilbert out of Stetson University as a junior. Standing at 6-foot-5 and 195 pounds, Gilbert will be one of the top prospects in the system upon his arrival in Seattle. Gilbert holds scouting grades of a 60 fastball, 55 slider, 50 curveball, 55 changeup and 50 control and can reach up to speeds of 97 mph on his fastball. The Mariners rank 30th on MiLB's Pitcher Farm System Rankings and are also last place overall in the rankings, making Gilbert one of their top prospects in the system right out of the draft. He will compete with fellow pitching prospects such as Sam Carlson and Max Povse in the system.--Caden Inaba - RotoBaller
