Leodalis De Vries Could Miss Rest Of Season
4 months agoSan Diego Padres shortstop prospect Leodalis De Vries (shoulder) is in jeopardy of missing the rest of the season with a right-shoulder strain. De Vries suffered the injury after diving for a ball on Sunday and is expected to miss a couple weeks minimum, which makes a return unlikely with Single-A Lake Elsimore's season almost over. The native of the Dominican Republic burst onto the scene this season at just 17 years old, making him one of the youngest prospects in Single-A and held his own this season. The switch-hitting shortstop that offers five-tool potential hit .237 with 11 homers, 38 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 299 at-bats. MLB Pipeline ranks De Vries as the No. 47 prospect in all of baseball and managers in dynasty leagues should consider investing early, even though he may be a couple seasons away from contributing at the big-league level.
