Kyle Lewis Extends Multi-Hit Streak To Six Games
4 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Kyle Lewis went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run in Friday's win over the Athletics. Lewis is now batting .455 on the season, has a hit in every game so far and multiple hits in his last six games. While Lewis has two home runs on the year, those are his only extra-base hits. Lewis has been productive this season but almost all of it has come via singles. He also continued his place discipline issues and struck out again giving him 13 on the year, which is the second most in the majors. While Lewis has been incredibly hot to start the year, there are some reasons for concern. He currently has a BABIP of .722 and a strikeout rate of 36.1%. Though it's early in the season, both of those numbers are big indicators that what Lewis is doing is not sustainable, especially for a player who hit .260 in the minors. While Lewis is definitely an add and worth playing while he is this hot, this could also be a great time to trade him.
