Kyle Larson Has Limited Upside At Daytona This Weekend
7 months agoWhile Kyle Larson is typically one of the drivers with the highest upside on any given race weekend, that is not the case for Saturday night's Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway. Superspeedways are one track type where Larson has struggled at quite a bit in the past, as the Hendrick motorsports driver has just one finish better than 11th in his last 13 attempts at Daytona and Talladega. As far as Daytona goes specifically, the record is even worse; Larson has never posted a top-five finish at this race track and has just five top-10 results in 20 (25%) career attempts at The World Center of Racing. In this summer Daytona race, Larson is on a six-race streak of finishes of 20th or worse. He qualified ninth for this weekend's race, and because of that along with his shaky (at best) track record, DraftKings players should look at other drivers for their DFS lineups on Saturday night.

Kyle Larson Collects A Top-Five Finish At Martinsville
6 days agoHendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson ended Sunday's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway in fifth position. Larson began Sunday's race from the fourth position and quietly ran in the top five all throughout the first stage. Larson would get shuffled back a bit by the end of stage one and fell just short of acquiring stage points as he placed 11th. In the second stage, Larson made use of effective pit strategies to maintain a top-10 running position, placing ninth at the end of the stage despite running inside the top five at times. In the final stage, Larson quietly remained in the top 10, and despite some clashes on track with Ross Chastain, he kept up with the top five until the finish. Larson ended this week's race with his sixth consecutive top 10 finish and his fifth top 5 result in the last six Cup Martinsville events.

Should Kyle Larson Be Underestimated As A Favorite At Martinsville?
1 week agoLast week's Homestead winner, Kyle Larson, will start Sunday's Cook Out 400 from the fourth position. Larson is one of the three Hendrick drivers to earn a top-5 starting position for this week's race through qualifying. In 20 races at Martinsville, Larson has one win and eight top-10 finishes. The No. 5 Chevrolet driver also placed sixth or better in each of the last five races at the site. Through six races so far this season, Larson has one win, four top-10 finishes, and an average finish of 11.3. In practice, Larson ranked 21st in overall lap averages while ranking as high as 13th in 15 consecutive lap averages. Despite his practice speeds, Larson's track record at Martinsville in recent years still makes him a driver who should not be underestimated. Larson is still one of the top favorites to win based on his equipment and 2025 performance.

Kyle Larson The Guy To Beat At Homestead
2 weeks agoKyle Larson is the favorite to win this weekend's Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Even though he has only one victory to his credit at this race track, Larson is a constant contender in Miami, with five top-five finishes in his last nine starts here and a series-leading 626 laps led. For context to how impressive that number is, Kyle Busch ranks second in laps led at Homestead with 470, and he's had nearly twice as many career starts at the track as Larson has had. In practice this weekend, the No. 5 Chevrolet was the fastest on the long runs for sure, ranking number one in 20-, 25-, and 30-lap average on Saturday. Larson qualified in 14th-place for this weekend's race, which gives him the rare combination of Place Differential upside, race-winning upside, and dominator potential. You should have plenty of Larson in your DFS lineups on Sunday--even with his high price tag of $11,000 on DraftKings.

Kyle Larson Leads The Most Laps, But Settles For A Top-10 Finish At Las Vegas
3 weeks agoHendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson raced well at Las Vegas and ran inside the top 10 for most of the race on Sunday, finishing in the ninth position. Beginning the race from 10th, Larson had one of the faster cars in the earlier portion of Sunday's event. The No. 5 Chevrolet driver made it up to fifth and collected stage points in the process. In the second stage, Larson was at his best as he took the lead a couple of times and eventually held off the field to win the second stage. Larson continued to challenge for the lead in the earlier parts of stage three, but there would be continuous cautions over the course of the stage, causing Larson to pit and experiment with strategy multiple times. Larson's pit strategies would put him back in the pack, where he struggled to get back to the front compared to Ross Chastain or his teammate William Byron, who both drove back to the top five. Larson made it as high as ninth, settling for his 13th career top-10 finish despite leading the most laps of everyone (61).
