Kyle Freeland Floundering In Triple-A
5 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland was demoted to Triple-A Albuquerque to try to regain whatever he had last year, but so far, it's not promising. Freeland has gone 0-4 with an 8.84 ERA since being sent down, and his walk rate is nearly five per nine innings. Manager Bud Black told reporters that Freeland has been making good progress down on the farm, but with zero promising numbers, it looks like that's just a manager not wanting to throw a guy under the bus. Freeland's success last season was built on the back of great luck, so a fall from grace was expected, but this is a considerably larger fall than anyone predicted. He won't be back anytime soon.
