Kurtis MacDermid Out For 4-6 Weeks
2 years agoColorado Avalanche defenseman Kurtis MacDermid (lower body) has been ruled out for four to six weeks. He suffered a lower-body injury at the start of Saturday's 4-1 win over Carolina. The 28-year-old hasn't been used much, and he has averaged less than eight minutes of ice time per game, but his injury is significant because the Avalanche have already been missing multiple blue-liners. Both Samuel Girard (lower body) and Bowen Byram (lower body) remain unavailable for Monday's clash with the Blues. The injuries have pushed Jacob MacDonald to the second defensive pairing and Andreas Englund is entering the lineup against St. Louis. The 26-year-old will make his first NHL appearance since 2019-20. He has registered three points in 33 games in the league and doesn't have anything to offer for fantasy managers. However, MacDonald might interest a few because he is also skating on the second power-play unit.
