Kole Calhoun On Pace For Career-High In Home Runs
5 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Kole Calhoun will be ready to slug when the Angels open up the second half against the Mariners on Friday. Calhoun already has 19 home runs this season through his first 86 games played after hitting exactly 19 home runs in 2017 and '18. Calhoun's career-best is 26 in 2015 and is on pace to blow right past that in the season of the "juiced ball". The one area of improvement for the veteran slugger will be his production when playing at home. Through 40 home games this season, Calhoun is slashing only .210/.313/.457 with 42 strikeouts in 138 at-bats. The Angels offense has come alive over the past month and they will need Calhoun to be consistent if they want to make a run at the Wild Card. Calhoun's fantasy value, however, should be reserved for AL-only leagues right now.
