Klay Thompson 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoGolden State Warriors shooting guard/small forward Klay Thompson is expected to return possibly after the All-Star break, but this is no guarantee. This would make him roster ready for most league's playoffs. If he does indeed return at this point, what can we expect from the sniper who is coming off a serious injury? It has a lot to do with where the Warriors are at this point in the season. We can assume they will still be a mid-round playoff squad and might be content with giving the veteran nights off for 'load management' purposes. We can also assume they will bring him back slowly, with emphasis to have him ready for the actual postseason. His game does rely as much on athleticism, so we can expect solid numbers from Thompson when he does take the court. If you have two IR spots, he is definitely worth grabbing in the later rounds, but with only one IR spot, you may want to look past him in this season's drafts.
