Kirk Cousins 2019 Outlook: Underrated Fantasy Asset
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins had a spectacular 2018 season, though it didn’t necessarily translate to fantasy points as he finished as just QB13. Cousins threw 425-for-606 (70.1%) for 4,298 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He put up these numbers despite the Vikings having a rough season, with Dalvin Cook missing a large chunk of time and an offensive line that ranked among the NFL’s worst in 2018. There’s plenty of reason to believe in Cousins this year, however. The Vikings improved their offensive line, added an exciting rookie tight end, and welcomed back a healthy Dalvin Cook. As a starter, Cousins has averaged 22.4, 23.7, 22.2, and 22.1 fantasy points per game in his four seasons, finishing as QB8, QB5, QB6, and QB13 in those years. He is currently being drafted at OVR90 (QB15), behind Jameis Winston, Ben Roethlisberger, Cam Newton, and Philip Rivers. Look for Cousins to exceed his ADP as he is in a prime spot to thrive in a balanced offense that features the best wide receiver duo in the league in Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs.
