Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Scores 27 Points In Loss To Grizzlies
7 years agoLos Angeles Lakers guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the Lakers into Memphis on Monday and managed to have a fairly efficient night from the field. He scored 27 points on 16 shots while leading the Lakers in scoring on what was an overall poor night for most of the starters. Pope was left to generate much of his own offense for most of the game with help from Josh Hart, Kyle Kuzma and Larry Nance Jr. Los Angeles played without Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball, so this outburst is one purely of circumstance. Caldwell-Pope has severely dropped off in field goal attempts in the past few games, and that will likely be the trend as long as Ball and Ingram are in the lineup. As a defensive specialist, his upside remains minimal unless the Lakers are missing a key rotational player.
