Kenley Jansen Day-to-Day With Rib Injury
Kenley Jansen (ribs) is dealing with an injury to his ribs and won't be available against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Jansen revealed that he injured himself in the gym on Sunday. The 37-year-old right-hander is unsure if he'll be able to return when the Angels open up a series against the Chicago Cubs on Friday. After surrendering two earned runs in one inning on Tuesday to take the loss against the Reds, Jansen owns a 3.00 ERA with a 1.08 WHIP, 48:16 K:BB, and 23 saves over 48 frames. Ryan Zeferjahn and Reid Detmers are the only other Angels relievers with more than one save this season (they have two apiece), so either could close in Jansen's absence.
