Jurrangelo Cijntje Scheduled to Pitch on Wednesday for High-A Everett
Seattle Mariners pitching prospect Jurrangelo Cijntje (arm) was pulled from his start back on May 31 with general arm soreness and hasn't pitched since, but is scheduled to get back into the rotation for High-A Everett this Wednesday. The switch-handed pitcher has performed well so far this year when deployed as a starter (12 appearances, nine starts), posting a 2.75 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 42 in 39 1/3 innings pitched. Hopefully this was just a bump in the road and will not be a recurring problem throughout the season. The Mariners' eighth-ranked prospect is an intriguing prospect with the ability to pitch as both a lefty and a righty, and it will be interesting to see if that helps him get fast-tracked to the majors sooner than his 2027 ETA per MLB.com.
