Joshua Kelley 2021 Outlook: Competing for LAC RB2 Job
4 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Joshua Kelley came into his rookie season with fantasy hype, but failed to live up to it. Last season, he rushed for just 354 yards and two touchdowns on 111 carries. In the passing game, he caught all 23 of his targets for 148 yards. His season started off nicely, rushing for 124 yards and a touchdown in the first two games. The rest of the season he rushed for just 230 yards. The Chargers did not add much competition to the RB room. Austin Ekeler will still lead the way, and the competition for secondary touches will be between Justin Jackson, Kelley, and sixth-round rookie Larry Rountree III. Kelley still has the highest draft capital of all those RBs. He has a limited ceiling as long as Ekeler is healthy, but due to his down rookie season, he is purely just a late-round pick, who is no guarantee to be drafted in fantasy drafts. He could become a waiver wire addition if he goes undrafted.
