Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey played his part in Monday's 4-1 win over the Rangers with two assists, setting a franchise record for most points in a single season by a defenseman. He started the matchup with a power-play assist and added an even-strength helper in the second period. Dustin Byfuglien had held the record since 2013-14 with 56 points. Morrissey jumped on 58 points with his Monday's effort. His 47 assists are also a franchise record by a defenseman. The 27-year-old has reached historical numbers in only 57 games.
