Josh Donaldson Doesn’t Believe Calf Injury Is Serious
7 years agoIn a sigh of relief for fantasy owners and Toronto Blue Jays fans alike, the calf tightness third baseman Josh Donaldson suffered on Monday is not believed to be serious, according to him. He seemed to suffer the injury running the bases after a Justin Smoak double. It’s unclear at this point if Donaldson is going to miss time, but it does sound likely he will sit out at least one game. Perhaps a couple of days off would do Donaldson some good. He has struggled mightily this season, slashing a poor .234/.333/.423 with only five home runs across 159 plate appearances. For those hoping to see super prospect/third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. get the call here, you’re bound to be disappointed. Some combination of Yangervis Solarte and Russell Martin will likely see the most time at the hot corner if Donaldson indeed misses time.
