Jose Berrios Fires Seven Scoreless Innings

Minnesota Twins right-hander Jose Berrios was impressive in a 5-0 win over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. Berrios fired seven scoreless innings while striking out four and walking one. The young hurler picked up the win, improving his record to 12-8, to go along with a 3.63 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 173 strikeouts in 181 innings of work. The seven shutout innings were a welcome sight as Berrios had been struggling since the beginning of August, posting an 8.07 in six starts. The Twins are going to need him with Michael Pineda suspended and Kyle Gibson dealing with an injury. Berrios will take on the Cleveland Indians on Sunday in his next start.
