Jordan Walker Recalled From Triple-A
4 months agoThe St. Louis Cardinals are calling up outfielder Jordan Walker from Triple-A Memphis ahead of Monday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. Walker has been red-hot at the plate in the month of August, hitting .349 with three home runs, two doubles, one triple, and five RBI. With Matt Carpenter (back) landing on the 10-day injured list, the Cardinals decided to call up their former No. 1 prospect on Monday. The 22-year-old struggled offensively in the majors this season, as he hit just .155 with four doubles and four RBI across 20 games. But the potential is there for him to break out following his strong numbers recently at Triple-A. He's worth an add in some 12-plus team leagues, given his upside in this St. Louis offense. Walker hit .276 with 16 HRs and 51 RBI across 117 games with the Cardinals in 2023. UPDATE: Walker is starting in right field and batting seventh on Monday against Reds left-hander Andrew Abbott.
