Toronto Maple Leafs center John Tavares (lower body) was placed on Injured Reserve Thursday. The veteran star was hurt in Wednesday's practice and will be out for a significant stretch, with Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube announcing that Tavares is week-to-week. This is a tough blow for Toronto, which has lost three games in a row entering Thursday's contest against New Jersey. Tavares has been a point-per-game player for most of the campaign, notching 20 goals and 22 assists in 44 appearances. Berube will go with Max Domi as the second-line center on Thursday. Domi has disappointed fantasy managers in 2024-25 and is experiencing another barren spell, going scoreless in six of the past eight games.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
