Veteran defenseman John Klingberg has signed a one-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers. The Swedish blue-liner looks to make a comeback after last playing in the NHL in November 2023. His 2023-24 campaign was cut short due to hip surgery. Before undergoing the procedure, Klingberg recorded five assists, 14 shots, 15 blocks, and 13 hits in 14 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Klingberg was a 60-point scorer in his prime, but those days are long gone. He will be an extra option for the Oilers at the back but likely will not make an impact in fantasy hockey.--Taavi Pailk
