Joey Logano Gets Much-Needed Top-Five Finish At Gateway
6 months agoBefore the race at World Wide Technology Raceway (Gateway) on Sunday, Joey Logano said the team couldn't afford any more mulligans if they're going to make the Playoffs this season. Luckily for the No. 22 team, they had a great race in St. Louis, as Logano walked away with a top-five finish and scored 39 points on the day. With that being said, the surprising win by (ironically) Logano's teammate, Austin Cindric, suddenly pushes the Playoff points bubble down a position, which actually lessens Logano's chances of making the postseason this year. The No. 22 team is not yet in must-win territory to make the Playoffs, but with 15 races down in the 26-race regular season, he sits 12 points behind the cut line and has arguably ran the worst of all drivers competing for the spot.
