Joey Bosa 2020 Outlook: Fantasy’s Best DL
5 years agoLos Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa has managed to play a full 16 game schedule in two of the past three seasons, which is a promising sign for a player with his injury history. When this former Buckeye is healthy, he is sure to get your fantasy squad 11-plus sacks, 15-plus tackles for loss, and 65-plus total tackles per season. That level of tackle and sack consistency from a defensive lineman is incredibly valuable to fantasy owners, considering how few DLs can provide both. Bosa's fantasy rank is elevated further by the additions of Linval Joseph and Kenneth Murray to what was already a solid defense in Los Angeles. Players like Joseph and Melvin Ingram should keep opposing blockers more honest against the Chargers' defensive line than they have to be against other top defensive ends like Myles Garrett and Danielle Hunter. With that type of help along his line taken together with his incredibly high floor and ceiling, Bosa should be considered the safest DL in fantasy. Select the 24-year-old Charger first amongst defensive linemen in your IDP drafts, instead of second or third like his current ADP would suggest.
