Joel Embiid Needs Only Three Quarters To Extend 30-Point Streak
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid played only three quarters in Sunday's blowout win over Washington, but it was more than enough for him to record his sixth consecutive 30-point game. He put up a game-high 34 points in 31 minutes, shooting 12-for-21 from the field and 10-for-12 at the free-throw line. Embiid has been shy in the double-double column lately and only picked up eight rebounds Sunday, but he made a big contribution on the defensive end with four blocks and a steal, and also tallied four assists. The next matchup against Cleveland looks a rough one on paper for Embiid, but he should then enjoy two massive performances against Charlotte and Indiana, two teams that have been awful defensively against centers all season.
