Joe Musgrove Could Resume Throwing Soon
6 months agoSan Diego Padres right-hander Joe Musgrove (elbow) is getting closer to picking up a ball and resuming throwing, per Padres manager Mike Shildt. An MRI revealed that Musgrove's right elbow showed a bone spur and bruise. He received a platelet-rich plasma injection and a cortisone injection in his right elbow. The 31-year-old dealt with a similar injury in May and was placed on the injured list on June 1. Musgrove owned a 5.66 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and a 44 15 K: BB across 49 1/3 innings before landing on the injured list. Shildt would not offer specifics on a timeline, but Musgrove most likely will return after the All-Star break.
