Joe Flacco 2018 Outlook: Make-or-Break Season for Former Super Bowl MVP
6 years agoBaltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has been cruising on the success of his 2012 Super Bowl MVP award for a while, but that could come to a halt soon. The Ravens drafted Lamar Jackson as their presumed quarterback of the future, but the future could come sooner than expected if he outplays Flacco. The veteran hasn't been listed as a Top 100 Player since 2015 and posted his lowest yardage totals over a full season since he was a rookie, totaling just 3,141 passing yards to go with an 18/13 TD/INT ratio. Although he may lose snaps to Jackson as the team works him into certain packages, there is the theory that Flacco could experience an Alex Smith-like revival now that he has motivation to perform. Even at his best, Flacco is nothing more than a backup fantasy QB and should be treated as such.
