6/29:Closing out the third round for the Red Wings, Jesper Eliasson is the first goalie prospect of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft for Detroit. The Swedish backstop stands at 6-foot-3 and 209 pounds, a good size already as a teenager in terms of NHL status quo goaltenders. A product of the IF Troja-Ljungby for the last few seasons in Sweden, Eliasson will get opportunities to play against better competition as he joins the Vaxjo Lakers of the SuperElit next season. In his last two seasons in the J18 Elit and J19 Elit respectively, Eliasson has a sub-2.00 GAA. With this pick, Detroit adds to its list of long-term potential goalie prospects. His relevance in the Detroit system and fantasy league won’t be realized for the foreseeable future.--Kevin Acorn - RotoBaller
