Jerick McKinnon Unlikely To Play In Super Bowl LVIII

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon (hernia/pelvis) was designated to return from Injured Reserve over the weekend, but head coach Andy Reid said he is unlikely to be officially activated in time to play in Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers. McKinnon underwent sports hernia surgery and had another procedure to fix his fractured pelvis after being placed on IR in late December. Assuming he cannot suit up, Clyde Edwards-Helaire will likely have a small role behind starting running back Isiah Pacheco on Sunday. If McKinnon is surprisingly active, expect him to have little to no role in the Chiefs' offense.
