Jerick McKinnon 2023 Outlook: High-Ceiling In Explosive Offense
2 years agoKansas City Chiefs veteran running back Jerick McKinnon has returned to the team on a one-year deal, where he is expected to retain his receiving back role that led him to the highest fantasy output of his nine-year NFL career. Finishing as the 20th overall running back in PPR leagues in 2022, McKinnon exploded down the stretch in which he scored nine touchdowns in the final six regular season games. Injuries have derailed the 31-year-old's career, but he showed last season that he has league-winning upside if he can stay healthy over the course of the season. If Kansas City eases him into his workload and waits until midseason to fully unleash him like they did a season ago, his health is less of an issue and he has league-winning upside as a late-round pick. Be cautious, as he has struggled to stay healthy over the course of a full season, but his current ADP is much lower than his home-run upside.
