Jeremy Lamb 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoComing off a career year as a member of the Charlotte Hornets, Jeremy Lamb now finds himself with new surroundings in 2019-20. In one of the quieter moves of the offseason, the Pacers added Lamb on the wing, who is expected to open the season at the off-guard spot with Victor Oladipo still making his way back from injury. Lamb became a full-fledged starter for the first time in his career last season and it led to career highs in numerous categories, including points (15.3), rebounds (5.5) and steals (1.1) per game, while also knocking down 1.5 triples per contest. But for those owners concerned that Lamb’s stock could plummet upon Oladipo’s return, Lamb actually saw his scoring average increase last season when the Hornets shifted him to the bench down the stretch. Analyzing the make-up of Indiana’s roster early in the season lends itself to the reality that Lamb will likely be asked to be if not the No. 1 option, than at least the No. 2 scoring threat for a new-look squad. Due to his new scenario, he boasts a bit more risk as a mid-round option, but ultimately could wind up providing a higher output if his offensive game continues to develop.
