Jedd Gyorko Rides Two Consistent Seasons Into 2018
7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals infielder Jedd Gyorko was very consistent in 2016 and 2017. He put up 2.3 fWAR in 2016 and 2.5 in 2017. His wRC+ was an identical 112 in both seasons, and he had remarkably similar walk and strikeout rates in the two seasons as well. Gyorko slashed .272/.341/.472 with 20 home runs and 67 RBI last season in 125 games. He'l hope to stay healthy enough to play in more games, for starters. Beyond that, fantasy owners should know more or less exactly what to expect from Gyorko. Numbers like his in 2017 don't make for a superstar, but they certainly make for a solid fantasy infielder who can likely be picked up in the later rounds.
