6 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies shortstop Jean Segura exited Sunday's game against the Pirates, after re-aggravating his bruised left heel. Segura initially hurt his foot on June 15 but only missed two games, returning to pinch-hit on Wednesday and playing through the weekend. The 29-year-old veteran said the heel has been bothering him since the original injury but was hoping to play through it. But then the discomfort became too great in Sunday's game and Segura was forced to depart. It's not yet known whether the injury will force Segura to the injured list but with off days on Monday and Thursday, the Phillies could give him four straight days off if they decide to sit him for their two-game set in Detroit on Tuesday and Wednesday.--Nicklaus Gaut - RotoBaller
