Jaydon Blue 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Excellent Receiving Upside For The Rookie
Jaydon Blue, selected with the 149th overall pick by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2025 NFL Draft, is easily the best pass-catching running back on the squad right now. While the backfield is technically crowded right now, with RBs Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders being signed after the 2024 season and Phil Mafah also drafted this year (in the seventh round), Blue has a clear path to immediate fantasy relevancy in PPR leagues. If he can establish himself as at least one of two backs that are primarily used in games, his penchant for forcing missed tackles and his solid receiving upside could make him a startable player. He forced 0.27 missed tackles per rush in 2024 and was second among 31 qualifying RB prospects in yards per route run and targets per route run. It's likely this is a big reason why Dallas selected Blue. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott would certainly like a nice weapon to throw the ball to out of the backfield, and he and Blue should develop a connection early. Prescott's lack of mobility will be exacerbated by his career injury history, so he could look Blue's way often on check downs and dump-offs to get out of trouble. Blue should be a nice value in the late rounds of redraft leagues and a good dynasty stash.
