1 month agoChicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez (illness) has been scratched from Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Baez was scheduled to play, but came down with a high fever and flu-like symptoms. David Bote will cover shortstop and bat sixth versus lefty Drew Smyly. Bote doesn't have great upside with the bat and Smyly has been solid since joining Philly. Bote isn't worth a look in DFS contests on Thursday. Baez is day-to-day and should be fine to play at some point this weekend.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
