Ja’Tavion Sanders 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Could Carve Out Year 1 Role In Carolina
6 months agoThe Carolina Panthers took tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders out of Texas with the 101st overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He surpassed the 600-yard mark in each of his active seasons as a Longhorn and showcased his ability to gain after the catch last year. PFF charted the 21-year-old with 7.7 average yards after the catch, tied for 18th among TEs, while also hauling in seven contested catches (t-7th). Sanders was overshadowed by Brock Bowers but PFF also noted that Sanders was primarily an in-line tight end, so his receiving prowess could be featured in Carolina with a shift in usage. Ian Thomas has gotten early buzz but only caught five balls in 12 games last season. Tommy Tremble paced Carolina's TEs with 23 catches, so no one is a clear roadblock. Sanders enters July with a half-PPR ADP of TE30 and aligned early RotoBaller rank of TE31.
