Jarren Duran Has Four Hits
4 years agoBoston Red Sox prospect Jarren Duran is out to prove that the loss of veteran outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr., who left via free agency in the offseason, is no big deal. The rookie outfielder went 4-for-5 with a double, stolen base, and three runs batted in on Friday. He's now 11-for-27 (.407) with six extra-base hits, including two home runs, this spring. The only real blemish for Duran is his BB-K rate which is 2-9. He has a history of producing strong line-drive rates in the minors but has always been an extreme ground-ball hitter. Duran made adjustments in 2020 and is hitting for more power and getting the ball into the air more consistently. Although he was recently assigned to the minor leagues, Duran could still make an impact at the MLB level in 2021.
