Minnesota Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon registered two power-play points as his team fell in regulation to the visiting Florida Panthers 5-4 on Monday. The 30-year-old opened up the scoring for the Wild with just 17 seconds remaining in the first period and later added a primary assist in the final frame. In addition to extending his point streak to three games, Spurgeon recorded four shots and one hit in his 23:07 of ice time in the contest. After logging just one assist in a 12-game span, the Alberta native seems to be finding his offensive groove as of late (two goals, two assists in three games). Given his usage on the Wild's top pair and first power-play unit, Spurgeon is probably worth a look in deep fantasy leagues for at least the short term. The Wild will host the Red Wings on Wednesday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
