Ja'Marr Chase 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Surefire Top-5 Pick With Burrow Back
7 months agoFollowing Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow's (wrist) injury in 2023, Ja'Marr Chase finished the season as the WR13. He finished with 100 catches for 1,216 yards and seven touchdowns over 16 games last season. He did miss one week due to an AC joint sprain and played just 28 snaps in Week 18. As a fantasy manager spending a first-round pick last year, it's reasonable to feel burned by the lack of ceiling reached. But even in a crowded receiver room, no player has averaged more targets since 2022 than Chase, as long as Burrow is his quarterback. Before Burrow's injury, Chase was on pace for 130 catches and over 1,500 yards receiving. Tyreek Hill, CeeDee Lamb, and Justin Jefferson are the only wide receivers being taken ahead of Chase in 2024 fantasy football drafts. There is no Tyler Boyd, no Joe Mixon, and potentially no Tee Higgins, who asked to be traded after having the franchise tag placed on him. The Bengals did draft Alabama wide receiver Jermaine Burton in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft to replace Boyd and insurance if the team does decide to part ways with Higgins. With a proven track record, an elite quarterback, and even more opportunities up for grabs, don't fade the Bengals' star due to last year's injuries. Chase is currently being selected sixth overall in NFFC leagues, which aligns with his RotoBaller ranking of five.
