Jakob Junis To Be Shut Down
5 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Jakob Junis looks to be done for 2019. Manager Ned Yost told reporters on Monday that the 27-year-old pitcher is starting to fatigue, so he's making a lot of mistakes. Junis is tied for the American League lead in starts made this season at 31. It's been a long season for the third-year player. His 5.24 ERA isn't pretty, his 1.43 WHIP is atrocious, and his strikeout rate of 8.42 was pretty much in line with last season while his walk rate bumped up more than 0.5 per nine innings. It's unlikely he'll be a recommended play for fantasy owners next season unless some type of dramatic improvement occurs over the winter.
