Jake Marisnick Inks Minors Deal With Angels
12 months agoFree-agent outfielder Jake Marisnick has signed a minor-league deal with the Los Angeles Angels. The defensive specialist split the 2023 season between the White Sox, Tigers, and Dodgers but scuffled to a .237 average with two home runs and two stolen bases across 83 plate appearances. He does offer some pop and speed on the basepaths, but Marisnick's path to playing time lies in a glove that has long graded well above the league average and has been elite at times. In 877 big-league appearances, much of which came with the Astros from 2015-2019, Marisnick has hit .228 with 65 home runs and 81 stolen bases across 2,247 trips to the plate.
