Jake Ferguson 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Former Breakout Set For Major Bounce Back After Last Season's Derailment
In 2023, Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson stepped up to fill the void as Dak Prescott's safety blanket, hauling in 71 receptions for 761 yards and five touchdowns. His late-season heroics paid off huge dividends for managers who snagged him off the waiver wire as he closed the season as the TE6 from Week 8 on. He was drafted as a middle to low-end TE1 in the eighth round last year, but injuries forced him to miss three games, and Prescott was sidelined for the last nine games of the year. All that misfortune led to a meager 59 receptions for 494 yards, and he failed to hit paydirt a single time. Despite a disappointing 2024, both Ferguson and Prescott are healthy, and the Cowboys added George Pickens in free agency to add a much-needed vertical element to their offense, which will undoubtedly open up the middle of the field for Ferguson to operate and rack up chunk yardage. Ferguson could very well have the season that fantasy managers expected from him last year, only this year, his Yahoo ADP is a screaming value at TE12, drafted somewhere between the 11th and 12th rounds. Early drafters have forgotten that Ferguson finished with the most red zone targets (25) at the position in his breakout year, and we are poised to capitalize on their short-term memories.
