Jahlil Okafor Breaks Out In Loss
7 years agoBrooklyn Nets center Jahlil Okafor had his best game of the season against a talented Timberwolves team on the road Saturday night. Accumulating 21 points, six rebounds and one blocked shot, this was clearly a breakout game for Okafor. Okafor came into the league as the third overall pick from Duke and showed plenty of potential in his rookie year. Unfortunately, his career hasn’t taken off since then. Some of it has been his fault with some immaturity through legal troubles and clashing with coaches, but his situation in Philly wasn’t ideal with the outlook of that Sixers team. Okafor is as skilled as a low-post scorer as we have in the league today. Rebounding and defense are not his strengths, but those tend to be more effort-related where he can improve. Long term, Okafor still shows promise, but it’s hard to trust him right now from a fantasy standpoint.
