J.J. Barea Catches Fire Saturday
6 years agoDallas Mavericks point guard J.J. Barea set the tone offensively in a blowout win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Barea scored 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting to go along with five assists, three rebounds, three three-pointers and a steal in just 21 minutes. Barea got hot early, scoring 11 points in the first quarter and helping Dallas accumulate a 24-point lead at one point in the first half. The veteran Barea has been known to be effective in limited minutes, especially in the assist column. With starter Dennis Smith Jr. struggling a bit, Barea will most likely continue to get ample run off the bench and is a great source for assists with potential for an occasional scoring outburst.
