Veteran Puerto Rican guard J.J. Barea has announced his retirement from professional basketball. The 38-year-old spent a total of 14 seasons in the NBA, playing for the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves. He helped the Mavericks capture the franchise's first ever NBA title in 2011. Barea was waived by the Mavericks in 2020, then spent the 2021-22 season playing for Cangrejeros de Santurce in Puerto Rico. As a fan favorite in Dallas, there's some speculation that he could wind up joining the Mavericks' coaching staff in the near future.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerRead More News
