4 weeks agoNew York Mets outfielder J.D. Davis, who won the Pacific Coast League batting title by hitting .342 last year, is a student of the game and studies the way opposing pitchers attack him. Davis had a .194 average in 66 games over two years with the Astros before being traded earlier this year. He started using weighted bats in 2017 and has improved his two-strike approach, as his .220 average with two strikes ranks 48th out of almost 330 qualified hitters. Davis also ranks in the 95th percentile in hard-hit rate, the 93rd percentile in average exit velocity and is second behind Cody Bellinger in expected batting average. He's been getting regular playing time in left field due to injuries and is hitting .310/.372/.516 with 15 home runs, 45 runs and 44 RBI in 306 at-bats, putting him on the map in deep mixed leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
