J.D. Davis Belts Two Home Runs Friday
9 months agoOakland Athletics third baseman J.D. Davis hit two home runs Friday in a 6-4 loss to the Guardians. The first was a solo shot to right-center off Cleveland starter Logan Allen and the second went to dead-center, again a solo shot off of the lefty Allen. Those were his only two hits in the game, going 2-for-4 and making him 3-for-7 on the young season. The veteran should get plenty of playing time in Oakland and is both third base and first base eligible in some leagues, giving him some additional appeal. The 30-year-old hit 18 homers last season, the most he's had in a season since a career-high of 22 in 2019.
