Is Ryan Blaney Recommended For DFS At Darlington?
7 months agoFor this week's Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway, Ryan Blaney will start 17th after qualifying. This is the worst starting position for Blaney at Darlington since 2018, the year he joined Team Penske. In 14 races at the site, Blaney has three top-10 finishes and four finishes with positive Place Differential. The driver of the No. 12 Ford did collect two ninth-place finishes in two Darlington races last season, however. In 12 races completed so far this season, Blaney has five top-10 finishes, led laps in six different Cup events, and gained positive Place Differential eight times. In practice, Blaney showed flashes of better speeds than most on shorter green flag runs as he ranked ninth in five consecutive lap averages and was fastest in overall lap averages. Despite his favorable short-run speeds, Darlington is a track where Blaney struggles, as he has yet to record a top-5 finish in his Cup career there. Blaney is not likely to change that this week, since he showed no speed on the longer runs in practice and starts in the middle of the pack. As a result, fantasy players should consider other drivers to roster for lineups this week.
