New York Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin (illness) will not take part in Saturday's game against Utah. Sorokin was outstanding on Thursday with a 30-save shutout against Vegas, but he has to skip Saturday's game due to illness. With Semyon Varlamov (lower body) already out, the Islanders are going with Marcus Hogberg between the pipes, with Jakub Skarek working as his backup. Hogberg has posted a 0-1-0 record with one start and two relief appearances in 2024-25. He has stopped 55 of 58 shots to register a .948 save percentage. Utah has scored more than two goals just once in its last eight games, making this a solid matchup for Hogberg, who carries a 9-18-9 career record.--Taavi Pailk
