Ian Happ Blasts Three-Run Homer Tuesday
5 months agoChicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ blasted a three-run homer Tuesday and picked up another run scored and a single in a 9-2 victory over the first-place Baltimore Orioles. The 29-year-old switch-hitter has been raking and driving in runs in July with a .417 batting average, three home runs, and 11 RBI in just seven games. Happ has always been a streaky hitter, and his .244 batting average and .358 on-base percentage are right in line with his career numbers, but this season, he's actually on pace to crack a new career-high in home runs and RBI. He will never be a super sexy player for fantasy baseball, but he does just enough to produce a little bit of everything to keep him worthy of a roster spot year in and year out.
