He struck out four batters while walking one. He has surrendered 18 runs over his past 14 2/3 innings. This poor performance is uncharacteristic for the South Korean. He owns a 12-5 record on the season to go along with a 2.35 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and 137/20 K/BB rate. Ryu has been one of the best pitchers in baseball for the majority of the year, which makes his recent struggles strange. As long as he is healthy, he is a must-start option every time he takes the mound.
