Hunter Henry Looks Quite Reliable
5 years agoLos Angeles Chargers tight end Hunter Henry didn't do anything flashy in Week 1, but he was just what Philip Rivers was missing. Rivers is surrounded by guys who can take any touch to the house, but ever since tight end Antonio Gates hung up his cleats, he's needed someone who could be depended on to just be in the right spot down the middle to pick up a first down when the team needed it. Henry did just that on Sunday. He finished with four catches for 60 yards, averaging 15 YPC but with a long of just 22 yards on one play. He got almost no yards after each catch, but each time his number was called, he was there to swallow the pass and move the chains. If Henry can stay healthy and is on the same page as Rivers, he could have one of those quietly amazing years that tight ends seem to specialize in.
